Festival of Ideas
The Adelaide Festival of Ideas is a biennial event managed by the Adelaide Festival Corporation and is held in the alternate year to the Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts.
The Adelaide Festival of Ideas was first conducted in July 1999. Since it began FOI has opened debate on leading issues of our times. FOI has become hugely popular harnessing ideas, experience and intellect and attracting attendance from all states of Australia and from overseas.
The fifth Adelaide Festival of Ideas in 2007 was a huge success, and attracted an audience of over 30,000 attendances to the 58 sessions presented. The Festival of Ideas has also recorded an increase in interstate attendances to this event. With the personal endorsement of the Premier of South Australia the Festival of Ideas has struck a chord with thinking Adelaide.
