Submissions

Participation in the Adelaide Festival of Arts is by invitation only. The Festival is made up of productions and artists selected by the Artistic Director and the Programming Department and invitations are issued by the Artistic Director or Programming Department. It is very unusual for unsolicited proposals to be successful in their application, due to the specific programming requirements of each Festival.

We strongly suggest that before you submit an application you look at the 2008 Festival program to gain an understanding of the type of work that is programmed. The Festival aims to present contemporary work rather than folkloric performance and in the case of Australian artists the Festival also generally presents work which has not had a prior season in Adelaide.

Companies and artists wishing to be considered for presentation in the 2010 Festival should send biographical material, reviews, financial information, DVDs, videos, CDs and a current touring schedule for consideration to the address below.

Do not send master copies of CDs, DVDs and videos as they will be held on file. The Adelaide Festival of Arts does not return materials as a matter of policy. If special circumstances apply, you may collect materials by arranging this with reception prior to submitting the proposal.

Please be aware that due to the large volume of submissions received, we cannot respond to every submission. However, all submissions are reviewed by the Programming team and if your submission is being considered for inclusion in the 2010 Festival we will be in contact with you.

Deadline: February 2009
